Reach the Heights
In April 2008 Funky Dragon embarked on its second European Social Fund (ESF) project as a joint sponsor in the Welsh Assembly’s Reach the Heights bid. The funding available in Wales is now called Convergence funding and covers the areas shaded in green in the map. Funky Dragon is a joint sponsor in the First Footholds part of the bid and aims to work with young people aged 11-19 to try and tackle underachievement through participation.The project will run from April 2008 until January 2013 and will work with young people in a variety of settings to help them achieve valuable skills, qualifications, and experiences that will assist their future development.
The Funky Dragon project activity will take place in a number of settings
1. Workshops relating to the Active Citizenship theme of the PSE (Personal and Social Education) Framework 2008
2. Work with hard to reach groups
3. Work with NEET young people
4. Participation training for local authority youth forums
5. Work based learning
6. Our Rights, Our Story
7. Developing working relationships with different policy areas within the Welsh Assembly
8. Work with youth groups
9. Accreditation
10. Ongoing continued self directed Learning
